COVID-19 Lemon -> Lemonade: Lesson 2.....Time is money!

For the last couple of years, I have been trying to help friends and acquaintances to reduce their stress by way of having a more orderly life. Some have welcomed the tips, some with all good intention, have not been able to apply my tips due to "lack of time"!

There are 4 valuable resources in the world:

1) Energy

2) Money

3) Health

and

4) Time

As unfortunate as the current world situation is, it has provided us with more TIME! Each of us have gained at least 60 -120 minutes a day by not commuting to work! So use this gain to your advantage and bring some order to your life. This (situation) too shall pass, but if we use the isolation time productively, we can get back to where we started in a more orderly manner once the world is back to normal.

So, here is my second tip: Time is Money!

Under these unusual circumstances, how we use our time, is up to us - but there is always a driver to our behavior.... Even if the driver, is being demotivated, the result is lounging around.... and that is fine. But if you want to come out of isolation a bit financially better off why not do some of the following:

1) Go through your kitchen cabinets. Take out incomplete sets or even individual plates or glasses you may have. Go to an online site such as eBay, and sell them. You would be surprised how some people are looking for the same pattern or brand to complete their set!

2) Go through your bookshelves. Most of the books, CDs or DVDs you are holding dear can be sold online! Amazon, Facebook market place, etc. are a few examples of where you can cash these items in.

3) Go through your closets: Seriously, how many black trousers or white shirts do you need? if in good condition, sell them.... if too old, too tight or too big, donate to the charity

4) You would be surprised how many people would be interested in your half used bottles of perfume! Sell them if you are tired of the same scent

5) Some make up artists would buy your half used eye shadows or other products if proven to have been used safely. Try selling them online

6) Time to de-clutter children's' toys and books! You may be able to sell them online OR swap them with other items on neighborhood buy/sell or Facebook marketplace sites.

7) Lets not forget about the adults: Time to check into the loft and garage! Even the refill thread for that broken strimmer will fetch you a few coins!

8) Accessories: Even prescription glasses can be flogged off if the frame is in good condition especially if it is a famous brand

9) Unwanted Gifts? Items you bought and forgot about which still have tags on them?? Well, you know what to do by now

10) last but not least, if you have a skill that you can utilize via social media, such as teaching a language, life coaching, etc., this is the time to get them put to good use!
